As the Cougar Claw staff heads out for a well-earned vacation, we leave you with a few suggestions to keep you busy until we get back. Enjoy your holiday break and we’ll see you again in 2016!

Santa Hustle 5k and Half Marathon in Galveston: December 20 Dress like Santa and run a 5k or half marathon through Galveston – enjoying cookies, candy cane and holiday tunes.

 A Christmas Story: The Musical at The Hobby Center: December 8 to December 20 Revisit the classic movie with this musical adaptation of Ralphie’s quest for a Red Rider gun. Tickets are available at http://www.thehobbycenter.org/?q=node/1500 

Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo: November 20 to January 9 Drink hot chocolate as you stroll around the Houston Zoo taking in the displays of more than 2,000,000 lights. There will be local carolers at the Reflection Pool stage at 7pm and 8pm each evening. The lights begin at 6 pm.

Home for the Holidays in Old Town Spring: Daily through December 20 Visit during the weekend for special activities, visits from Santa, strolling performers, live entertainment and more: all for free.

Winter Break at the Museum: December 22 to January 3 At the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, families can explore art created by American artist Mark Rothko. Tickets available at https://ecommerce.mfah.org/Admission.aspx 

The Nutcracker: November 27 to December 27 The Houston Ballet will perform a timeless classic, the Nutcracker at Wortham Theater. Tickets available for purchase here: http://www.houstonballet.org/tesstkt/index.aspx
