Album Review: The Sun’s Tirade by Isaiah Rashad
If you have even the slightest inclination to hear an inspirational and eye opening sonic adventure, I would advise you to take an hour out of your day to listen to Isaiah Rashad’s “The Sun’s Tirade,”
As everyone knows, the music industry is watered down and completely overrun with “musicians” putting out anything and everything they can produce. But every once in a blue moon, an artist puts out something truly innovative and inspirational for the music culture today. Isaiah completely embodied the “creation of art” with this album.
He portrays his vision of popular culture in America right now. He describes drug culture/addiction and how it has influenced his music as it has gotten easier for him to be a part of it.
He brings to light the struggles of living in a time where nothing is private and you get almost no time to yourself. He lets people know what it’s like to go from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Los Angeles, California as a rapper on the rise and all the complications that come along with it.
The production has a melodic blues and soul backing with the accompaniment of many old school samples painting a descriptive picture of his creative head space at the time of development. This album follows the melodic southern rap vibe that has been ruling popular and underground hip hop for years and years.
He colorfully describes many introspective problems that millennials understand and take to heart, and for that this album is going to be a classic for our generation.
