Percussion captures the night

Last night, the Tomball High School, Junior High, and Creekside Park Junior High School bands performed at the Night of Percussion concert in the Tomball High School auditorium. The concert featured familiar pieces such as, “Mah-Ná Mah-Ná,” solos such as “Yellow After the Rain,” “…like a burden too heavy,” “Furioso and Valse in D minor,” “A cricket sang and set the sun,” “The Winner,” “Michi,” “Rotation IV,” “cello suite No. 1, Prelude,” and, “Katamiya.”

The concert included Winter Percussion Ensembles as well as Creekside Park and Tomball Junior High Percussionist pieces such as, “Scuttlebutt,” “The REM Cycle,” “Scenes from the Woods,” “Crown of Thornes,” “Short Stack?Woo-op!” “La Forza Del Destino,” and, “Catching Shadows.”Soloists from Creekside Junior High included: Paytorn Icard, and Baxter Fry. Solos from THS were Ruben Acuna, Kennedy Shalloup, Dayton Whitis, Georgia Dowdy, Garrett Williams, Olivia Moore, and Mitchell Vereide.

The concert lasted about two hours and kept the crown entertained all the way through.
