Steven Tyler going country
A couple of days ago, I was driving home listening to FM 92.9Q and I heard the DJ interviewing a voice I was familiar with. It seemed normal, but there’s was a catch: why was a country station interviewing a rock star?
The answer is simple. Steven Tyler, the former lead singer of Aerosmith, is going country.
Tyler’s new song/music video, “Love is Your Name,” was released last May, and Tyler is now working on a new album in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Nashville seems like the perfect segue for a solo project,” Tyler, in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, said. “I’ve been working with some freaking epic Nashville songwriters, getting my feet wet with the style and groove.”
Tyler first made the announcement during his surprise appearance at the Grand Ole Opry concert.
“He’s looking for out-of-the-box people,” Tyler’s song writer, Jaren Johnston, said. “I think he’s going for something extremely real.”
The new country song is believed to be featured in his upcoming album, however, not much more is being said about it. Tyler wants it all to be a surprise. However, he has told fans that a mandolin and banjo will be in the soundtrack of his new experimental country album.
