BAND

Marking the true ending of the marching season, the students are divided into Wind Symphony, Symphonic, and Concert for the spring semester. With that they had their final concert of the year on December 11th where each band perform from the many holiday musical selections.

Their was also a special treat from the Tomball Percussion section. With the group growing larger they had two small ensembles. Battery members performed Yuletide Festival by Philip Gregory, while the Front Ensemble members performed Carol of the Cowbells by John Willmarth.

The TCP Color Guard will be hosted a bake sale and auction to raise money for their Winter Guard season that begins once we come back from winter break.

Band members also competed at the Freshman All-Region Auditions in hope of getting a spot for the Region Band. Four students made it to the freshman all region band. Woodwind players Emma Lin and Emma Guilbeau received 4th and 5th Chair Flute. Brass player Josh Bayang earned 3rd chair for Euphonium. Lastly, for percussion Joseph Perez earned the top spot, 1st Chair.

Those who are in grades 9 – 12 can compete at the All-Region Phase 1 auditions and seven members advanced to phase 2. Senior Morgan Way and Junior Everett Presley received sixth and eights chair in bassoon. Senior Emily Issacks earned first chair in Contra Clarinet while Junior Jeyne Figueroa got third in Bass Clarinet. Senior Devin Opfer got 11th for Tenor Trombone along with Junior Devin Spaulding who earned second in Bass Trombone. Lastly, Freshman Joseph Perez earned 15th in Percussion.

Along with the members above their was four who did not advance but they did earn a spot in the district band who will perform this Friday at the Region Concert and Clinic. Senior Scarlett Barge and Junior Aidan Edwards earned 26th and 27th chair in Trumpet. Michael Robinson got 27th for French Horn. Lastly Sophomore Jake Blome earned 12th chair for Tuba.

CHOIR

Choir held their Holiday Concert on Dec. 5 in the THS Auditorium.

They competed at Pre-Area with four members getting in the top seven chairs as well as three advancing to Area. Gaby Velasquez, Hazal Kadioglu, and Mia Hegar all advanced to Area. Gaby earned fourth chair for Alto 2, Hazal received fourth chair for Soprano 2, and Mia Hegar got fifth chair for Alto 1. Special notice for Anneli Abbot who earned seventh chair for Alto 1 and is an alternate.

For the holiday season both the Varsity and JV will be did singing tours around Tomball throughout the school days. The Chamber Choir will perform for the Trail of Lights, Tomball Museum Complex, and the December School Board Meeting.

ORCHESTRA

Orchestra ended the year with their Holiday Concert which was held on Dec. 7.
