The Cougars game at Oak Ridge has yet again set the tone for this year’s playoff season. They finished with a score of 8-2 with the pitcher, C.J. Sampson, only allowing the opposing team five hits in total.
This coming week, they play against Rowlett High School in Dallas with a regular-season record of 20-6.
“I mean, Dallas is just another challenge for us,” Caleb Gaford said. “We’re obviously going to have fun while we’re there, but our main focus is baseball and winning the next round.”
The team is determined to push hard and stay strong during the playoffs, as a single loss could cost them their chance to advance to the state championship.
“Our goal is to get to State like we did the past few years,” Brady Burrow said. “Everyone has high expectations for us to do well, which can add some pressure but ultimately gives us more motivation to do even better this year.”
