Girls soccer ready for round one playoff matchup
Girls soccer picked up some momentum over spring break to end their season as they went 2-0 in their last two games of the season. They tied Magnolia 0-0 on Friday, March 7 before going into spring break and beating Klein Collins 3-0 on Monday, March 10 then Klein Forest 5-0 on Friday, March 14.
The girls finished 2nd in district play and play their first playoff matchup against the Cy Woods Wildcats who also were 2nd in their district today at 7:15 p.m. at TISD Stadium.
Softball keeps steamrolling through district
The Lady Coogs have had an unbelievably hot start to their season, taking care of district opponents with no issue at all. They went 5-0 over their last five games with an astounding run differential of +54, beating Memorial 12-3 on March 7 then following up with an 8-1 win over Mag March 8. Their spring break continued the success, beating Klein Cain, Klein Forest and Klein Collins 8-1, 15-0 and 17-3 respectively.
The team sits strongly at 1st in district and has a bye week before they are back in action Tuesday where they will travel to Mag West, which shapes up to be a solid matchup as Mag West is currently 3rd in district.
Baseball takes first district loss, still strongly at the top
The baseball team has held a top ranking in the state for this whole season after a state championship last year, and they certainly played up to it with great wins like a 6-run comeback in the Big Cat tournament, which they played very good in overall. However, after their great start to the season that carried through spring break the team took their first loss of district to Mag West 0-3 on Tuesday.
The Cougars will look to get back on track with a rematch travelling to Mag West today then hosting Klein on Tuesday.
