A year ago in November, Tomball had an intense game against Willis. Their battle was long and hard-fought but the Cougars fell short against the Willis Wildcats.
Contributing to the heart-wrenching and painful defeat, the Wildcats had injured Tomball’s starting quarterback, Jaxson Faldyn, who was rushed to the hospital with a broken collarbone.
But coaches say their focus isn’t on their opponent this week.
“It doesn’t matter what team it’s Tomball vs Tomball, not Tomball vs Willis, we’re gonna try our best and compete no matter the rivalry,” Head Coach Dave Handal said.
This year, the Cougars have been striving with a vengeance after their defeat, to show their resilience and to show that they are striving for victory this time around. After working and hitting harder to show their growth of strength and power within the team.
“I feel like we’re really trying to get our get back,” defensive end Toby Adeuti said. “I feel like it’s revenge time.”
They face off against Willis once again, at 7 tonight at Randall Reed Stadium.Â
