Girl’s JV had their first game of the season last week against Magnolia High School, the Lady Cougars put a good fight but came up short for both sets.

Although the game was a loss it showed the Lady Cougars what they are good at and what they need to improve on. Team chemistry was very strong in the first set of the game with Tomball taking the lead by 10 points, but didn’t keep that lead for long.

“I think that team chemistry was good and we need to work more on passes, every game starts with a good pass if not we can’t really go anywhere,” sophomore Camila Del Valle said.

Magnolia wasn’t going to let them keep the lead for long and slowly started to make up for lost ground and later took the lead and later the first set with a score of 25-18

Magnolia and Tomball started the game with a different mentality and kept the score very back and forth between who had the lead. Magnolia took the lead later when the score became 18-16 Magnolia.

“We’re still learning how to work together as a team and I think we did a lot of good things and when we practice to make the team even better,” Girls’ JV Volleyball Coach Shai Diehl.

Although it was a much closer game in the second set, Magnolia was the team to have the chips fall their way and the final score for the second set was 25-18. Next Tuesday, August 24, JV will play Willis High School.
