The first home football game of the season is this tonight at 7 p.m., and it’s Senior Night.

Seniors from organizations involved in football games such as players, cheer, Student Council, and Charms will be honored either before the game, during halftime, or after the game. Each senior will be announced as they walk across the field escorted by their parents. The Student Council and Senior Parent Organization are helping put on this event.

“It’s a great opportunity to honor all of our amazing seniors,” Student Council President Caroline Klein said. “Not only do we get to be honored for Senior Night, we also get to help put it on for everyone else.”

In light of the unique circumstances this year, many are looking forward to Senior Night.

“For four years I’ve been building up to this moment,” senior middle linebacker Mickey Nolen said. “It’s exciting to be on the field as a senior.”

COVID-19 has created much uncertainty surrounding the football season, so having this annual Senior Night game is a boost in morale for seniors.

“This is our first game this season that we are cheering at,” senior cheerleader Autumn Kashin said. “Over the summer we assumed we wouldn’t have a season, so [the game] is a big deal.”
