After a truly hard fought game, Magnolia broke open a tied game in the last few seconds of the forth quarter to edge Tomball 56-49.

“I’m really proud of our kids and the way they battled and never laid down,” Coach Kevin Flanigan said. “Even with 15 seconds left, they were trying to get into the end zone and believing they can win.”

This defeat puts varsity football’s overall record 4-1 and district mark at 1-1. The Cougars take on Waller this Friday aiming to get back on track and remain in the hunt for a district playoff spot.

Senior Tybo Taylor totaled 234 yards rushing for Tomball and threw for 190. Taylor ran for two of the touchdowns, one of which went 79-yards.
