Volleyball player Brooke Johnston has accepted a scholarship to Texas State.

She decided on Texas State last February, but she had also looked at Texas Tech, Sam Houston State, New Mexico and a couple of others.

“I’ve always loved the Texas State campus, the river and everything about it, and the coaches, the athletic program, just everything fits me perfectly,” she said.

She’s been playing since eighth grade, about five years.

Brooke anticipates the hardest difference between high school volleyball and college volleyball will be the conditioning and the team.

She’s also on Revolution, which is a club volleyball team. She has been playing with her Revolution teammates for three years, and said with club action the players are a lot better and we get to travel to a lot of places.”
