As course selection begins, choosing electives for a future career can be difficult for students interested in becoming an electrician. But not anymore, because Tomball is now offering an electrical technology pathway.
The pathway includes Level 1,2, 3, and 4 classes, but Levels 3 and 4 are dual credit. This pathway leads to an electrical technology certificate and an occupational skills certificate.
These certificates can help students enter the workforce faster and increase job opportunities after graduation.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated that the demand for electricians will increase due to the growing need for skilled workers in the construction of AI centers. He also highlights that these roles will see six-figure salaries as the construction for these centers boom, with many spots being filled without a college degree.
This means that students graduating high school could see opportunities for high-paying salaries. Now that Tomball offers the electrician pathway, students will have more opportunities to enter a high-demand career field and build a stable future right after graduation.
