The Superintendent’s Fun Run is set for Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Tomball Event Center, 20235 Cypress Rosehill Road. The event is open to students, families, and community members, who can choose between competitive and casual participation.
The main event, a 5K timed run, will begin at 8 a.m. Participants of all ages are eligible to compete, with timing chips used for official results. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group. Organizers advise runners to arrive at least 30 minutes before the race for packet pickup and pre-race instructions.
For those seeking a more relaxed experience, a 1-mile walk is available. This untimed route begins near the stadium and is designed for families, children, and casual participants. A “Sleep-In Pass” option allows individuals to support the event financially without physically attending.
The event also features a dedicated Kidzone, which includes inflatables, a rock climbing wall, and face-painting, all of which are available throughout the morning. Students will perform at scheduled intervals, showcasing music, dance, and other presentations in the stadium area. Additionally, a Health and Wellness Vendor Fair will provide local businesses with the opportunity to showcase fitness products, offer health screenings, and share wellness resources with attendees.
Proceeds from the Fun Run will first be used to cover operational expenses such as staffing, timing services, equipment, and permits. Any remaining funds will support employee wellness programs and the Tomball Education Foundation, which offers enrichment opportunities for students across the district.
Registration is available online through Runsignup.com. Fees vary based on race type and participant age, with discounted rates for students under 18. Early registration is recommended to secure T-shirts and preferred start times. Parking and check-in will be managed on site, and the event location is fully wheelchair-accessible.
Organizers describe the 2026 Fun Run as an opportunity to combine fitness, community engagement, and family participation. The event is expected to draw several hundred participants, and organizers encourage residents to attend as runners, walkers, or volunteers.
