For students in Tomball ISD, robotics has become an exciting way to explore science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on learning. This year, their hard work will be on display during the district’s Robotics Showcase on Thursday, May 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tomball ISD Agricultural Center.
The event will feature robotics teams from elementary, intermediate, junior high and high schools across the district. Each team will present projects they have built and programmed throughout the school year, demonstrating a range of skills in design, coding and engineering.
The showcase serves as a celebration of student learning and progress in STEM education. Visitors will see how students apply classroom concepts to real-world challenges as they share their robots and explain how they were built.
This programs challenge students to solve problems using creative thinking, teamwork and technical knowledge.
Each team will set up displays to present their design processes and explain the functions of their robots. Many of the robots were built for competitions earlier in the year, and the showcase provides an opportunity to revisit and refine those creations.
The Robotics Showcase is open to the public and invites families, teachers and community members to support and engage with STEM programs in the district. As robotics continues to grow in popularity, events like this one highlight the value of hands-on learning and student innovation.
