Drumming into space

The Tomball Percussion section is holding their annual Night of Percussion concert today in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

This years theme is “Through Space & Time” and it is a collection of performances from grades sixth through senior year for a total of 14 ensembles with a special performance from both the Varsity and JV Indoor groups.

The junior high/intermediate campuses will perform a total of seven ensembles. Three from Tomball JH, two from Creekside Park, and a combination of the sixth graders who will perform two. The other seven ensembles will be performed by the ninth through twelfth graders.

“I can’t believe it’s my last ‘Night of Percussion’,” senior William Klein said, “but I’m also so excited to be performing with my friends one last time.”

The order of the performances is below:

  • Escape Velocity – performed by Joe Perez, Ginger Tietjen, Braden Soetaert, and Carmen Lee
  • TetraCurrentperformed by Nick Burnham, Josalyn Escobedo, Jenna Mathes, Rishi Pasam, Emmaline Conner, Natalia Martinez, Mason Hill, Lily Theobald, and Jackson Gardner
  • Mercury Risingperformed by the Tomball JH Honors
  • Sharpened Stick – performed by William Klein, Diego Calderon, Jake Dixon, Ryan Piepho, and Nathan Gandy
  • Clave & Son– performed by the Creekside Park JH Symphonic
  • Andiamo! – performed by the Tomball JH Concert
  • Mosaics – performed by Skye Mosier, Jacob Ramsey, Justus Grewers, Bruno Garcia, Brandy Bridenstine, and Georgia Weyker
  • The Can-Can – performed by the Tomball Intermediate Beginners
  • Raspberry Tango – performed by Jackson Gardner, Jacob Ramsey, Justus Grewers, Bruno Garcia, and Georgia Weyker
  • Grandfather Clock – performed by the Creekside Park JH Beginners
  • Fidgetperformed by Nick Burnham, Josalyn Escobedo, Jenna Mathes, Rishi Pasam, Emmaline Conner, Natalia Martinez, Mason Hill, Lily Theobald, and Skye Mosier
  • Escape Artist – performed by the Tomball JH Symphonic
  • Stormbreak  – performed by Creekside Park JH Honors
  • The Feeling of Coming Home – performed by Joe Perez, Ginger Tietjen, Braden Soetaert, Carmen Lee, Diego Calderon, Jake Dixon, Ryan Piepho, and Nathan Gandy

Then JV Indoor performing their contest show entitled Duality with the concert concluding with a performance of Altered State from the Varsity group.
