TCP band advances to UIL Area this weekend

The TCP band previously went to UIL Region receiving straight 1’s and moving to UIL Area Marching Contest. The UIL competition will be this Saturday, Oct. 29.
The marching show this year is named “17 Cherry Tree Ln“, with music from Mary Poppins, Saving Mr. Banks, Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar, and Umbrella by Rhianna.
“This year’s show has so much potential for doing great things,” said Sophomore Chris Rodriguez, “I’m genuinely excited for what this show offers the audience and the lengths we can take it to.”
They will be performing at 9:30 in the morning in the Galena Park ISD stadium.
There are two rounds for Area, prelims, and finals. Every band will perform for prelims and out of those 10 will be chosen for finals, with only 4-5 chosen for UIL State.
