On Jan 3rd, The North Cypress Medical Center on 21214 Northwest Freeway was abruptly halted from it’s normal duties when a 21 year old man pulled a gun and fired a shot in the air to grab attention of the hospital waiting room.

It is believed that the man was frustrated from having to wait for doctors to take his X-Ray. A nurse asked him to take off his clothes for the X-Ray, which some believe pushed him over the edge.

Hospital security then pulled out their weapons and ordered the man to drop his gun. When he refused to comply, the deputies opened fire on him.

“It was a very intense situation,” SGT. Cedrick Collier said. “Our high risk operation unit was dispatched to the area to ensure there weren’t multiple shooters.”

The two officers have remained anonymous, and no one was injured other than the 21 year old, who is still alive.

“The man will likely be charged,” Collier said. “But the extent of those charges will be determined after an investigation. We have to evaluate him, get him medical attention, and see what his mental state is.”
