Drumline Competition a major success

The Cougar Pride band’s drumline may have been the rookies on the field at a recent drumline competition, competing for the first time, but they performed like pros.

The competition was emotional for many students, especially for seniors since they had never done a competition like this. Most of the students who participate in the event were extremely nervous before the performance to the point were it made them think they messed up.

After they got the results, they were surprised when the judges announced that they were second place winners in the international competition.

“The experience was very new because we had never done a competition like this before,” Kennedy Shalloup said. “We were going against all these big and scary schools and none of us expected to do well.”
