THS grad dies over weekend

Former Tomball High School student Matthew Steinmetz, who graduated in June, died over the weekend at his home. He was 18.

Odalis Sanchez, Matt’s girlfriend at the time of his passing, described the news as astonishing, “My heart broke,” she said, “I couldn’t believe that he was gone.”

What she remembers most of Matt was his “beautiful green eyes and cute smile”.

He was described as a “kind soul” by Nicole Rowse, a friend of Matt.

A memorial service in his honor is planned for Saturday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m., at the Christ Church of Spring. There is information on a Facebook page dedicated to Steinmetz called “RIP Matthew ‘Coco’ Steinmetz.”

Steinmetz was found dead in his home, and a cause of death has not yet been determined.
