JV Baseball makes comeback against Magnolia

JV baseball played against Magnolia on the 24th of March. The ball was not bouncing for The Coogs, who could not get a break.

Tomball was down 4-1 before the 5th inning, however they came back to tie the game. With district rules, when there is a tie, you must go into extra innings.

In the bottom of the 9th inning, with runners on 1st and 2nd, the game brought Bandon Marshall to the plate. With a 1-0 count, Marshall hit a gaper between 1st and 2nd, bringing in Mark Bonnain and pushing Tomball over the top to win against Magnolia.

“I think we played really well, we stuck together and kept our composure through everything. It felt really good to come through for my team, especially in the 9th inning. As long as we keep playing like at team, I think we’ll do really well, just got to keep our composure and stay calm”, Brandon Marshall said.

The team kept on playing the game and showed everyone why it’s always important to never give up and to keep on trucking.

“We got that dub, 7-6, thanks to Marshall’s walk-off. Being brought down from varsity has pushed me to drive myself, to push myself that I deserve to be on varsity and I will continue to play my hardest. In the future it’s a team effort, not just one person. It’s all about how the team comes together is how it’s going to end the season”, Derek Maciejeski said.
