Big game a big deal to new kid

Coming to Tomball High School the day before a huge rivalry football game is very confusing, not to mention a tad-bit stressful. I had no idea what to think or what questions needed to be asked. Then being asked to go record the game for Newspaper came as a surprise, along with having students discuss how “epic the game is going to be” or “who do you think will win the game?”

At the game you feel this atmosphere of tension between both sides and hearing  side comments in the audience going on about how the game is going to be a good one this year, it’s kind of intense. The kick-off was a perfect way to open a game that decides who goes to the playoffs.

A man parachuting out of the sky onto the field was crazy yet remarkable to see, then watching the two teams glare at one another like it’s a battlefield. Intense.

The players played their hearts out, Tomball High School with a steel wall defense and Tomball Memorial with a slick offense.

As the game went on, the two sides became in tune with each other and the field, showing one another what they got and how hard they can hit. The half time show was completely outstanding along with being outstanding! Veterans were being recognized with their distinct branches, and the choir from both sides singing their anthems.  The band formed the United States of America while having the American flag in the center, along with men parachuting out of the sky, and the schools finishing up with a beautiful display of fireworks.

Many of us felt like it was an end but for many of us it was just a beginning for Tomball High School.
