‘Socktober’ sock collection to continue through Monday

Erika Molina, Staff Writer

Winter is right in the cornet, the temperatures are decreasing, and there’s people that have no resources to stay warm and keep themselves safe.

Homeless people need your help. There’s approximately 2,287 sheltered people and 1,078 unsheltered in Harris County. Socks are very a important item, one of the most needed clothing items, and one of the less donated. By bringing a clean pair of socks, you’re helping not only a person but your community.

The pick-up day for SOCKTOBER has been extended for next Monday.  All the sock will be donated to to the Star Hope Mission for the Homeless.

There will be prices for the classes that bring more socks. The first place will have the chance to win a pizza party. Second, third and fourth places will get an ice cream celebration.

Donate socks, and difference in this people’s lives.
