Applications for pass/fail classes are up now and will be closed Aug. 1. Pass/fail courses are only for level classes and will not affect GPA. Only current sophomores and juniors are able to apply.
Here is the list of requirements to take a pass/fail course:
- Course must be a Level III or IV course.
- Students must have taken Levels I and II.
- Course must be in a pathway that does not have weighted (TAP/AP/DC) options.
- Students will not be approved to take more than two Pass/Fail courses in any one school year.
- Students must successfully complete the application process advertised by the campus and meet any required deadlines.
- Students must complete the form each eligible year.
- Students must commit to the program prior to Aug. 1.
- The decision cannot be changed after Aug. 1.
- Students must earn a semester average of at least 80 to qualify for the conversion to a Pass for the transcript record. Semester averages of less than 80 will be posted according to regular guidelines and will be included in GPA rankings.
- Provided that the semester average is at least 80, the numerical semester average will be converted to a grade of Pass for the transcript. The grade will not be included in GPA calculations.
