Latest project is for the birds
Wood shop is starting a new project that will more than likely take the students the rest of the semester to complete. An architectural birdhouse is the objective and the students are excited to be able to build something to bring home.
For the last few weeks, the students have worked day after day on perfecting their plans on paper so that they can bring their masterpieces to life. Every perfectly straight line, every dimension, and every exact angle have all been in preparation for this project.
Now everything they have learned throughout the year must be used without flaw in order for this to work in their favor. The wood shop teacher, John Toreson, isn’t letting anything short of perfection pass in his class. He has been pressing his students harder than ever in order to help them reach their full potential.
Toreson also leads his advanced class to do great projects for the special needs students, including making ramps, picnic tables and much more. If you want to see wood shop’s works speak with Toreson in room 1610.
