Movie Review: Daddy’s Home
Played by Mark Walhberg and Will Ferrell, Daddy’s Home is basically the story is about the comical psychological tug-of-war between Dusty the Father and Brad the stepdad to gain favor over the kids.
Dusty, the Father of the kids, is a tough guy yet he has no real job and is a horrible deadbeat that is all fun no rules. Brad, the stepdad, is like Dusty’s polar opposite. He’s soft, passive, and a pushover yet loves his step kids to death and has a well-paying job.
The war between the dads goes everywhere from a skateboard competition, early Christmas presents, parenting skills, and bedtime stories that include bashing the other’s abilities in the bedroom.
Actually there’re some good lessons to take out of the movie.
The lessons include respect toward others, parenting, love, and how easily people can get accused of racism.
Contrary to the quite sensitive material involving a serious topic, the movie was still hilarious. Daddy’s Home has a perfect ending with them both calling a truce and the Dad getting a piece of his own medicine.
