With Graduation around the corner, seniors have a few final steps before they walk the stage at Reed Arena on Friday, May 23.
One thing to note: If you want to participate in the Cougar Walk at a former elementary school on Wednesday, the 21st, be sure to sign up on the provided google form. For those details, we have a full on this.
First up is Graduation Rehearsal, Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the competition gym. Seniors are required to be there. At rehearsal, seniors will check the list to ensure they’ve met graduation requirements, verify their diploma hold status, and go over everything else they need to know.
Reminders for graduation day:
- Seniors must arrive at Reed arena no later than 7:15 a.m. and follow the dress code in order to walk the stage. Hair must be a natural color. Only earrings are allowed, but no other facial piercings. Caps cannot be decorated, and only district approved honor cords can be worn. Parking at Reed arena is $10.
- Boys must be clean shaven, wearing a dress shirt and tie, and slacks or nice jeans. They are also required to wear dress shoes, boots, or clean sneakers. Girls must wear a dress, skirt, or nice pants. Also, nice shoes.
- After the ceremony, students who have cleared all holds will get their diploma packet, which includes the diploma, photo order form, and Commencement program. If a senior still has a hold, they must come to THS the following Tuesday, May 27, to clear them. If you feel that Associate Principal Mark Vierkant might need help pronouncing your name, be sure to stop during lunch or leave a voicemail to 281-357-3220 ext. 2215. If you leave a voicemail, say your full name slowly 3 times on the recording.
Seniors, it is almost time to celebrate! Let’s finish this last week and finals strong and make graduation a day to remember. Congratulations everyone!
