Now that Tomball is back in the playoffs, the Cougars are making themselves right at home.
Playing in Brenham in an area-round playoff game Friday night, Tomball defeated Austin Anderson 40-20, the Cougars’ second playoff win and 10th win of the season.
The win leaves Tomball a win away from playing for a regional championship. Two wins, and Tomball will be among the final four teams vying for the Class 5A championship game at the Alamo Dome.
Quarterback Justin Dvorak had a pair of one-yard scoring runs, while Brandon Green ran in a score from 18 yards out.
The Cougars also got a pair of field goals from Dillon Duarte, from 27 and 32 yards.
With the win, Tomball advances to play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Baylor University in Waco against District 11-5A champion Longview.
The Lobos are 8-4 overall this season after dominating against South Garland in their 27-14 area-round victory.
