TAFE succeeds at State Competition

Over the recent four-day weekend, members of the Tomball chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators went to Arlington to participate in the state competitions they classified for last November. Competitive events and guest speaker presentations took place at the UT Arlington campus and the Sheraton Hotel.

The club’s President, Maggie Wolfe (11), obtained an engraved plaque after advancing on to the national Educators Raising competition, which will take place over the summer in Phoenix. She also received a gold certificate for her Portfolio.

Colleen LaRue (9), received a silver certificate after achieving a high score on the Educational Leadership Fundamentals test, commonly referred to as the ELF test. She also received a blue ribbon for her Bulletin Board, the highest recognition for a state event.

Brooke McGarrah and Daniela Roscero, who participated as a team in the Bulletin Board competition also received a blue ribbon.

Dylan Morgan and Sabrina Hernandez competed in various speech competitions.
