Release of the iPhone 6 Plus

Release of the iPhone 6 Plus

The time has finally come. On September 9, Apple made the announcement that the iPhone 6 will be available for purchase on September 19.

The new iPhone has sleek rounded corners, improved camera features, and a more advanced retina display. It comes in the same colors as the iPhone 5s and still includes the fingerprint-scan security.

But now, consumers have another decision to make. The iPhone 6 also comes in a 5.5 inch version known as the, “iPhone 6 PLUS,” which is .8 inches larger than the normal iPhone.

“I think the PLUS version of the iPhone is unnecessary. Apple is just trying to replicate Android and Samsung phones, rather than creating a new, unique design,” THS senior Danny Trchalek said.

The Plus has the potential to not be as popular amongst current iPhone owners due to it’s similar size and shape to the Samsung Galaxy, even though it still has the same features as the regular iPhone 6.

Both phones will be compatible with iOS 8, which has yet to be released.
