Free after-school meals available to students

Staff Reports

Students who stay late after school or who aren’t able to eat dinner at home can now grab a free meal on campus after school, part of a new After School Meal Program at Tomball this fall.

The meals are packaged grab-and-go style, but the meal must be eaten somewhere on campus. Regulations prevent the school from allowing students to take the meals home, but if you’re staying after school for an event or club you can take the food with you.

The dinners are offered in the cafeteria from 2:45-3:45 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday for now, although if the program is popular more days could be added. It launches the very first week of school.

The menu for now includes:

  • Tuesday – Nacho Chili Burrito, with chips, juice, orange slices and milk.
  • Wednesday – Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks, with dipping sauce, banana, cookie and milk.
  • Thursday – Beef Taco Stick, with chips, salsa, apple and milk.

A “Bistro Box” and a Peanut Butter and Jelly option are also available each day.

The program is free to all students.
