Gearing Up For The Wildcats

The Tomball Cougar football team takes on cross-town rival Tomball Memorial at home tonight at 7.

Last time the two teams faced off the Cougars won in nail-biting fashion after the Wildcats missed a game-winning field goal try, but now a new crop of players must fill in for the Cougars after several key seniors have graduated as they host the newly 6A school in their opening game.

The Cougars are leaded on offense by returning varsity quarterback Hunter Dunn and running back Ja’Kobi Holland and the defense has a strong cast of seniors in linebacker Levi Marion All-State safety Kasen Handel, and two way star Logan Compton, who is new this year coming in from IMG Academy. Logan isn’t the only player suiting up for the Cougars for the first time tonight with track star Jay’ris Smith tackle Christian Mobley nose guard Brady Cox and a host of juniors being promoted from JV to start contributing on Friday night.

The Cougars are counting on a full house tonight as they gear up to take on the guys in blue.
