Japan Hostage CrISIS

The small independent country Isis has captured two Japanese men, Kenji Goto Jogo and Haruna Yukawa is demanding a $200 million in return for them, or else, taking Isis’s past into consideration those men might be beheaded. Isis has released a video of the two men kneeling in orange jumpsuits.

With time ticking away the members of the terrorist group gave the Japanese government 72 hours, which ends Friday January 23 at 2:50 pm Tokyo time, to respond to their demands. Japanese officials wouldn’t say whether or not they would pay the ransom.

“Japan’s measures are absolutely not intending to kill Muslim people, unlike what the hostage takers claim,” said Japan’s Chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga Said.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s government has not said whether it would pay the ransom, although Deputy Foreign Minister Yasuhide Nakayama was dispatched to Jordan to seek the country’s support in resolving the hostage crisis.
