ROTC Annual inspection

The Area 10 inspection will occur this Wednesday during the morning classes, through fourth period. The inspection will take place in the parking lot behind the school or in the Lego gym in the case of inclement weather.

Every year the ROTC welcomes Admiral Mike Hale, the area 10 commander, and a host of other inspectors to the school for the area 10 inspection. The event involves every cadet within the program being inspected by at least one of the inspectors.

Along with being inspected individually, the cadets will form platoon formations for grading based on period, as well as a staff formation. After each formation is graded, cadets on the armed and unarmed teams as well as the color guard will be pulled from the formations to perform.

After the grading is completed, the pass in review and awards ceremony will commence. During which, the entire company will march by and salute Admiral Hale, and the Circle 10 medals will be awarded and the honor platoon will be announced.

The Circle 10 medals are awards given to a small percentage of cadets from each platoon based on how well they did on the inspection. While honor platoon is awarded based on the performance of an entire platoon rather than the individual.

Any cadets who are absent during the inspection will likely fail the semester, as it is worth five major grades. If a cadet is ill, it is recommended that they show up in uniform the morning of. They will be able to be inspected early and return home immediately if they still feel unwell.
