Getting ready for golf

The Tomball Cougar golf team is preparing for their first tournament, which will be held on October 23rd.

They have been practicing every Tuesday and Thursday at the Tomball Country Club.   Players leave school at 2:00 to go off campus and practice for hours.   During each practice, they focus on their weaknesses and try to make them stronger.   The team plays against each other, which creates a new level of competition each game.

Many of these hard working players have been playing for at least seven years.  Along with their own personal skills, Coach Jon Taylor has made an impact on their game.   He often participates in their practices and will challenge them to a game.

When asked who their biggest competition will be in the tournament, players replied themselves.  The mental game they have inside their own head is what can make or break a golf player.
