The Cougars dropped their opener to Stratford but did have moments on offense.

For the first time since 2019, the varsity football team travels to Magnolia in Week 2 of Texas High School Football. The Cougars are looking to get momentum behind them as they come off a 46-28 loss to Stratford.

The last time Tomball met Magnolia, the Bulldogs won 55-28. Despite Magnolia being in 5A, District 10-5A is loaded with teams such as Manvel, Friendswood, and Fulshear, which is looking to make a run under former Tomball assistant coach Nick Codutti as through two weeks they are averaging 75.5 points per game.

Tomball Keys to Win:

When it comes to rivalry games, they can go either way as they are full of momentum swings. For this young Cougar team, they need to control the environment. With the weather in question, it’ll level the playing field.

  • Control what you can
  • Stay mentally strong
  • Hold on to the ball

Final Thoughts:

Both teams are coming into the game 0-1 looking to get their first win, there isn’t a better game to obtain it. With rains and thunderstorms expected around the time of kickoff, it will be interesting to see how both teams adapt. Nonetheless, it will be a game to watch.
