Tomball football player after a play

As district 15-6A play begins winding down, the playoff seeding battle has begun. The Cougars are currently in fifth place looking from the outside in to trying to obtain that fourth place spot to make the playoffs.

The Cougars fell to fifth place after back-to-back losses against Klein Collins 31-8 and to Klein Oak 31-14 this past Friday. As the varsity football team had a bye week, they prepare for the upcoming matchup against Klein Cain on Saturday.

Klein Cain is currently in second place to Klein Collins who is in first place with a 3-0 district record. Ideally, the Cougars win out and beat Klein Cain as well as Klein in the following week and clinch a playoff spot for the first time since the 2019-2019 season, when Tomball was a 5A school.

If the Cougars are unable to beat Klein Cain it could come down to the last game of the year versus Klein to determine the fate of the Cougars season and chances of making a run in the playoffs this year.
