Football takes on Waller tonight at 7 for their first away game of the season.

Though this is not a district game, this is Tomball’s first game against another 6A team, and one of the last games before the Coogs start to play Klein schools.

Many players are anticipating a win in tonight’s game against one of the Coogs’ former district competitors.

“I think we’re going to win,” senior Derrek Peterson said. “Offense played great last week, and we beat [Waller] last year.”

With a player out, the team has dedicated more time and energy into making sure there are no weak spots in their lineup against Waller.

“We’re definitely ready,” junior Tyler Lee said. “We’ve been practicing and we’re ready for Waller.”

The switch up to the 6A conference has caused the football team to work harder than ever to be able to compete against these larger teams.

“We need to practice at 100 percent, and put in the effort to limit mistakes,” Cale Hellums said.
