Basketball bashes Waller, runs district record to 4-4
January 25, 2018
It was a night of wins all around for boys basketball.
Not only did varsity win, with a final score of 59-50, the JV and Freshmen A teams both defeated Waller as well.
“Yeah, it was good,” freshmen varsity player CJ Rodgers said. “We didn’t play that good though.”
Rodgers sees room for improvement despite the win for the Cougars, who are now 4-4 in district play and still in the hunt for a playoff spot.
“We could’ve improved on our execution,” he said. “We won because we played hard at the end of the game and pout up a strong defense.”
The team’s next game is this Friday and again will be playing at home, this time against Brenham.
“We beat them last time,” senior Austin Buteaux said. “We’re mainly practicing on the same old stuff for this Friday.”
