Soccer continues success since Valentine’s Day

Tomball Cougar Soccer teams didn’t want candy or flowers for Valentine’s Day this year, they wanted wins and that’s what they got.

Boys Varsity Soccer earned a huge 3-1 win Valentine’s day.  The game went into overtime, and the Cougars fought hard all the way through.

Jake Bates (12th) scored with a penalty kick, and Guillermo Fernandez Sansores (11th) scored the other two goals.

This brings the boy’s district record to 5-2, tied with Waller and Huntsville for 2nd in district.

Boys JV Red Team tied with the Wildcats, with a score of 0-0.

Cade Stephenson(10th) and Ramon(9th), the team’s goal keepers, played aggressively, not letting anything past them.

Girls Varsity Soccer team also played great and won 1-0 in overtime. Payton Dorion (9th) scored the only goal of the night. Girls JV teams fell short to the Wildcats, with a score of 2-1.

As for last Friday’s game, the Girl’s Varsity soccer team became the only team to defeat Willis with a final score of 2-1.

Corie Taylor (10th) made the first goal of the game with Jessica Martorelli (9th) assisting. Later Martorelli scored the second goal. This currently puts the girls 2nd in district with a 7-1 record.

In the earlier game, JV white went under 2-0 the first half and JV red failed to recover in the second half.

As for the boy’s game at home, varsity lost with a final score of 3-1.
