Tennis continues trail of victories

Tennis fought it out against the Magnolia West Mustangs this week, with the Mustangs threatening to end the Cougars’ long district streak. This wasn’t the case as THS won with a final score of 11-8

The pressure’s still on. Tennis now has to defeat rival Tomball Memorial next Tuesday, a team the Coogs previously lost to, in order to become the district champions.

“As long as our mixed doubles do well, we’ll probably win,” Braeleigh Franklin said,”Our girls are always doing good so we don’t have to worry about them.”

As for the away game last Friday the Coogs cut down Oak Ridge with a final score 10-9.

“We knew we would win from the beginning,” Grant Sumner said, “The only problem was that Oak Ridge would make bad line calls.”

This becomes problematic because there are no referees in tennis, so you have to rely on the integrity of your opponent.

The tennis team still was able to bring home yet another victory putting their current overall record at 10-2.
