Tomball to revive Bowling Team
Bowling has been a sport long underappreciated in Tomball, despite it being America’s #1 participation activity.
Each year over 68 million American’s go bowling, and yet it hasn’t been a school sport? Well actually, it has! Not many know, but THS had a bowling team a number of years ago. At one time they were even 3rd in the state.
But the three coaches who ran it eventually had to leave for various reasons. However, the lack of representation is going to change, all thanks to Dalton Kendrick.
Kendrick has been bowling for 4 years and has been on a bowling team for most of those. He works at the local “Tomball Bowl” and talked with the owner of the store and chain, and with the bowling league, and is currently setting up another bowling team for Tomball High school.
All the team needs now is a teacher to sponsor/run the team and be the “coach.” The teacher wouldn’t even need to have a bowling background, just be willing to stay after, help the players do their thing, and have fun.
There are already enough students willing to join, so this is a perfect opportunity to show that hard work can get you anywhere.
