For the third series in a row, the Cougar baseball team took Game 3 over the weekend, beating Barber’s Hill 6-4 as Shane Daughety had a homer, double and four RBSs in the regional semifinals.

The win moves the Cougars into the regional finals this week against College Station, with a return to the state tournament on the line. Game 1 is on Wednesday at 7 p.m., Game 2 is Thursday at 7, and Game 3, if needed, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, all at Sam Houston State University.

The Cougars are trying to return to the state tournament for the third time in four years.
