Ty Stafford advances to Meet of Champions
Pole-Vaulter Tyler Stafford earned 2nd Place at the State competition last week, securing an opportunity to compete at the Meet of Champions at Baylor.
“The week before [the meet], I figured I should keep practicing,” Stafford said. “Since last year I didn’t even place at District.”
Over the course of the year, Stafford has continued to improve his Pole Vaulting abilities. Going to the Area meet alone was an improvement from last year, but Stafford continued to impress the school as he progressed to the Regional tournament, where he earned the 1st place.
At State, the intensity of the competition increased, but this didn’t hinder Stafford’s performance as he vaulted a new record of 15′ 4″.
Stafford’s hard work has definitely paid off, and the excitement he brings to THS is truly inspiring.
“If you stay determined and keep working,” Stafford said. “You can achieve anything.”
