The Cougars are a win away from returning to the state tournament in Austin after beating Tomball Memorial 7-5 in Game 1 of their best-of-three series Wednesday night, in front of a packed crowd at Cougar Field.

The regional finals continue tonight at Tomball Memorial, with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. and another large crowd expected. Tickets are $5. If you can’t make it, check out this site which will carry the game live online.

The Cougars were led by Josh Breaux, who twice homered while his brother was on base.

Since both schools have graduation tomorrow, Game 3, if needed, will be Saturday at 2 p.m., at College Park High School in The Woodlands. With another win, Tomball advances to the state championships in Austin.
