Charms clean up at first contest
The Cougar Charms spent Valentines’ Day competing in their first dance competition, travelling to Mayde Creek High School for the Crowd Pleasers Dance Competition.
The Charms spent all day dancing and performing to the best of their ability. At the end of the day their hard work paid off.
The dancers won 1st runner up in their Team Kick routine, Best in Class for Team Modern and Team Pom, highest scoring Pom routine, and a Precision Award for Pom.
The Military Officer line earned 2nd runner up for Officer Contemporary, 2nd runner up in Officer Jazz, Best in Class Officer Modern, and a Technique Award for Modern.
The Charms won 4th Place overall and are preparing for an even better second contest.
“We had a blast at our first contest. We worked hard and had a great time,” said junior Alyssa Surface. “We learned a lot and I’m sure we will do even better at our next competition!”
The team will compete on Feb. 21 at Klein Oak High School in the MA Dance Competition.They’re hoping Cougar fans show up to support them.
