The Cougar softball team defeated Cy falls early Saturday morning at the Cy-Fair Tournament, and also defeated Bay City that afternoon to set up a showdown with Klein Collins. The Lady Cougars lost to Klein Collins but over all had a great showing for the weekend.

Emily Vela had two singles and a double, Savannah Sandoval had three singles, Katherine Thompson had a single and two doubles along with Lexie Comeaux.

Kamryn Boucher pitched 16.2 innings and had 15 strikeouts.

“The season is good,” she said. “We are 8-3. Hoping to be district champs, we’re ready for it.”

The Cougars take on Willowridge and Spring Woods this week in district action, depending on the weather.

“Our strengths are our defense and were really close as a team and our only real weakness is that we don’t communicate very much” Boucher said.
