The Cougar softball team defeated Waltrip on Friday night 18-0 and advanced to the Area playoffs.
Lexie Comeaux had a homerun and a single, Kiana Workman had a homerun, a double and a single and Kellsie Steinocher had a homerun and a single to contribute to the team score.
The Lady Cougars will play Sante Fe in a best 2-out-of-3 series this week, beginning Thursday and Friday at 6 at Northshore Complex and Saturday at noon if needed.
The coaches and players are hoping for a strong turnout to show their support in this difficult series.
