They did it. Tomball Football pulled it off. The Cougars beat Tomball Memorial 49-6. This victory ended their district season with a 10-3 standing. That means playoffs are in the very near future for the Cougars. Their first game will be Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. It’s a home game against the Reagan High School Bulldogs.
Tickets go on sale today at the field house, and will also be sold during lunches in the cafeteria Wednesday and Thursday.
Judging from the stats between each team, the game looks very promising for the Coogs. They have almost 2,000 more yards total offense and over 2,000 more total rushing yards than the Bulldogs. Starting quarterback Drew Reynolds has more total touchdowns than Reagan quarterback Tyron Washington.
“Reagan is athletic, but not disciplined,” said senior receiver Elijah Turner. “We want it more and have better coaching.”
But, the Cougars can’t underestimate the Bulldogs. They only have one away-game loss on their record. Tomball players will have to focus on their goals in order to continue their journey through district.
They use the advice from their coaches to motivate them throughout this journey. They remember the wise words of Coach Ramsey:
“Choose one thought today that will spark a relentless will to succeed.”
Tomball Football has a chance to make history, and are counting on the student body to come out and support them.
As Turner put it: “It’s time to make some noise!”
