New district previews: Touching all bases

Without the 2012 senior players, Tomball baseball will have to make some adjustments to their game. 

Every varsity player has experience and advanced skill that is crucial to their success.  Experience is something that every Tomball baseball player has in common.  The camaraderie and chemistry among the players gives Tomball an advantage over the other teams. 

“We always play as a team,” said junior outfielder Nick Banks, “No matter what.”  Key players in the new district include, Ishmael Edwards, Robert Dugger, Michael Herrera, Vance Hammonds, and Dylan Bass. 

In order to beat the big rival Ridge Point, the Cougars will have to stay focused and determined.

“If we apply ourselves the way we should,” said junior outfielder Vance Hammonds, “then we will succeed.”

 Next year, Tomball baseball hopes to make at least top two in district.  But, according to Banks, “If you reach your goals, you aren’t setting them high enough.”
